USWE SHINES AT THE ABSA CAPE EPIC 2026
2026 marked USWE’s third year as an official event partner of the Absa Cape Epic — and without a doubt, our strongest showing yet. If you’ve ever experienced the Cape Epic in any capacity — rider, supporter, crew, or partner — you’ll know there’s nothing quite like it. The scale, the atmosphere, the unpredictability… it’s a beast of an event, and this year the organisers dialled up the challenge even further.
With four race villages on the menu, the logistical demands were immense. It was a year that required agility, resilience, and a team ready to adapt at every turn. And that’s exactly what we brought.
A Small Team with a Big Presence?
From Meerendal’s Prologue to the final stages in Stellenbosch, our USWE footprint stretched across all four race villages. Our crew set up and broke down, our pop up store a record amount of 8 times in one week. Eight!!! And they did it with a smile, unwavering energy, professionalism, and heart.
Late night setups, early morning rushes, last minute rider needs… they handled it all. Riders felt their presence, not just through the gear they purchased, but through the warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine support our team brought to every interaction.
A massive shoutout to Henry, Riaan, and our entire USWE team. You were the backbone of this operation — the quiet heroes behind the scenes who made the magic happen. Your commitment, your smiles, and your willingness to go the extra mile made this our most successful Epic yet.
USWE on the Trails: Racing with Purpose
Our presence wasn’t limited to the race villages. Founders of Vivo Vita Sport — the South African importers and distributors of USWE — Mari du Toit and Janine Muller lined up as Team USWE in the NTT Data Masters category.
Their performance deserves a mention:
- 3 stage wins
- 2 x second place finishes
- 2 x third place finishes
- 2nd overall in the GC
It was a week of fierce racing, deep grit, and unforgettable moments. And behind every pedal stroke was the support of the team on the ground — proving once again that success at the Epic is always a collective effort.
